Sheer stockings are part of female beauty.
Over the years, fashion has changed the use and style of stockings, adapting them to the needs of today's women. Let’s talk about stockings.
Ballet Stockings
Heels were for a long time the epitome of fashion in women's footwear, but as time passed, women have sought more comfortable alternatives. It’s not that they no longer like heels or that heels have been forgotten in fashion, it’s simply a matter of comfort. And that’s how ballet flats came about. They are a type of flat shoe (not just any flat shoe) that easily serves as the counterpart to heels, and today, they are perfectly capable of adding elegance and originality to a woman’s look with this new style.
But for the use of this footwear to look “elegant,” the top of the foot must appear “bare” since a regular stocking would completely ruin the elegance of the ballet flat (literally). That’s how ballet stockings were born, which are usually very short sheer stockings that barely cover the sole of the foot, the toes, and the heel, leaving the rest of the skin exposed so the ballet flats can do their job (looking good) since they are practically invisible. This gives the impression of not wearing stockings, with the comfort of wearing them. Another advantage is that they are perfectly compatible with less formal and more casual shoes, where you also don’t want the stocking to be visible. They keep the foot dry and protect it from the shoe, making them as comfortable as wearing a regular stocking.
Slacks Stockings
These, like ballet stockings, are sheer stockings but of a greater length (a little below the knee), so their purpose, unlike the first type, is not to “hide.” These stockings are perfect, for example, to give the impression of wearing “pantyhose” with certain styles, or to wear them with ankle-length pants. They can even be worn as part of the outfit, as today’s female styles are so varied that exposing them as a fundamental part of the wardrobe can work well (depending on the woman’s style). For many, it’s also an elegant way to hide the lack of a tan on the legs while looking good at the same time. This is undoubtedly a comfortable garment that is easy to wear and combine with others; many women even forget they are wearing them due to their comfort.
