"I am moved by the gratitude I feel for having achieved a radical change in my way of living and seeing life."
Dear reader, in the following pages, I will share with you my journey toward reconnecting with life itself. I am moved by the gratitude I feel for having achieved a radical change in my way of living and seeing life. Nowadays, there are countless materials available in our language about motivation, entrepreneurship, and business. However, most of the content about mindfulness (or full attention) is primarily in English. Additionally, the worldview of much of this content is deeply influenced by the cultures from which it originates, predominantly Eastern. This is why I want to share my experience with everyone, in our language and from our Latin perspective of life.
The text aims to balance sharing ideas and suggesting points you can immediately put into practice.
The basic premise is that the geometry and design of the universe we live in are perfect. The most reliable proof is that galaxies—of which there are many—do not collide with each other. Our first intuition should be to closely observe how things naturally work.
So, let’s start with the beginning of the day: sunrise.
All life on our planet is organized around the cycle of time. Diurnal animals, plants, and other species begin their activities when the sun starts to rise.
Activity 1: Tomorrow, wake up at least one hour before sunrise in your city (you can usually check this on your phone). Set your alarm and go for a one-hour walk. Repeat this 5 to 7 days a week. For a greater sense of well-being, jog at a pace that feels comfortable to you. It’s not a competition. Do this for two weeks and tell me how you feel.
According to Ayurveda medicine, the basic types of energy are not only expressed in our bodily composition but also manifest in the hours of the day, months of the year, and phases of life. The early hours of the day are filled with "vata" energy—the energy of ether and air. This energy inspires flexibility, creativity, and imagination in our lives.
For Eastern cultures, practices like "hatha yoga" and meditation are the main recommendations. I firmly believe these are excellent tools that yield great results within their cultural contexts. In our Western world, so dominated by intellect, I’ve discovered that the best way to calm my mind is through active exercise in the morning.
The goal is not just the exercise. That’s why the recommendation is not to wake up and use the treadmill at the gym. Something incredible happens at sunrise. Life awakens. You can feel it in the singing birds, in the awakening animals. You see how the day begins to light up. Animals that were calm until that moment begin to move.
I haven’t seen the first wild animal that sleeps until noon. I know it will be hard to wake up at first, but as I said, in just two weeks, you’ll feel so good that you’ll wake up happy to conquer a new day. That’s what it’s about—gradually exercising your willpower.
Since the physical body and the mental body are completely interconnected, if we act on our physical body, we’ll see our mental body calm down. This is the greatest goal we need to achieve. Absolutely all species on the planet, except ours, live in harmony with creation. Only humans, because of our brain activity, strive to be smarter than the universe itself. This is causing an imbalance in the life of the entire planet. We’ll discuss this topic further later.
